Happy New Year and freezing weather!

Welcome 2012! Where has this past year gone? It slipped by ever so quickly....
We stayed home for New Years Eve, enjoyed having the kids home (well 3 of them were home) and managed to stay awake til midnight! Well, I actually got my second wind and didn't get to bd til after 2 A.M. New Years Day we visited the inlaws and surprised the kids by leaving them with grandma and grandpa for a few days :) They have been good and it's been extra quiet around here, but I am sure grandma is happy that they took their nintendo ds's to keep them occupied, lol. monday morning, james and I got to sleep in! haven't done that in a long time...even the dogs didn't need let out extra early. We headed out to do some shopping and grab some lunch. it was rather nice not having anyone ask if we could get this or that, or hearing bickering as we drove :) James went back to work today as did Alexis, she's getting lots of extra hours in. this mornig was bitterly cold....-29 with the wind! I froze driving her to work! I had alot of outdoor chores to do so Noah helped me with them, thank goodness, as I am feeling slightly sick with a cold and have almost lost all of my voice. We were bundled up so tightly ut we still felt the cold. Oh wel, the wood was brought in, the outdoor animals fed and watered and the chickens have a nice warm bedding of hay in the coop to keep them toasty, although they were not too happy when we were putting it in...gosh, with all the squaking and feathers flying, you would have thought they were being killed, lol. They were so mad, they refused to give me any eggs today :P tomorrow it is suppose to get up to zero, we will see! Wishing I was down in Florida with my mom right now, she safely arrived there yesterday! I could some of that heat:)
Well, I am off to curl up under the warm blankets, and cozy flannel sheets my mom gave us. Trying to rest up and be ready for the 3 kiddos to get home tomorrow night. I miss them :)

stay warm everyone and have a great night!

hugs, Trish

  1. Oh Trish. It sounds way to cold in your part of the world. Today I took the kids to the park in just a jacket and stretch gloves. How nice to have a quiet break. I wouldn't know about that. I do agree with the DS's though. We have two in the house and they can be life savers. -Steph-
