Hello again my friends!

I have found some quiet time, yes, late at night again, to post.
It has thankfully been warmer the past few days, -2 degrees instead of -30 +++, although we have a problem with the snow melting on the roof and huge icicles melting and the water is dripping down inside our front door and in our living room wall. I guess we can't win either way, lol, we either freeze or deal with melting messes. Since I have been stuck at home because of snowy weather lately and I don't drive when the roads are slippery, I have been bored and started to do a wee bit of shopping on EBAY. I found some awesome deals and I will post pics when they arrive in the mail. I really can't wait but it will likely be next week before they start arriving. I also met one the friendliest EBAY sellers there ever was, and we have the same tastes, primitive, old fashioned , things from the past. Ann has kept in contact with me alot and and we have some great email conversations. If anyone would like to visit her EBAY store, here is her link:
sallyscellarstore items - Get great deals on Antiques, Collectibles items on eBay.com! hope that worked, lol. I can't wait for better weather to arrive so that I can get out and visit our antique stores closer to home as well, yes Natalie, I need to visit you soon! :)
So far this week has been fairly quiet compared to last. Last week a neighbor of ours from down and around the bend had 4 horses get out, twice! The second time around, the horses were running loose on our road in front of a plow and went into the forest. They were also on our property trying to get into our paddock. Luckily 3 of the horses showed up back home and the 4th was found nearby later that morning. I was more concerned about them running wild while my kids were leaving to catch the school bus so I drove them to the bus stop as you just never know what can happen. This week I decided to stain the 4 kitchen chairs that were remaining. 2 are completely done and 2 just need one more coat. It seems to be taking forever to dry, lol, and trying to keep 5 kids from touching them and making sure the cats don't walk across them is a challenge for sure.
Well, I think it's time for bed, I'm yawning :) Thanks for stopping by and I'll post again real soon!

Hugs, Trish

Wow!! Another post already! I'm on a roll, lol.
Just a few pics pf the snow we got over night and today, lots of it!! It stopped finally but it's suppose to snow overnight again. Since the roads were crappy to drive on we stayed home and this is what hubby and I made today... a pot rack! I just have to do some touch ups with black paint on the chains and hooks but I love it already :) This is a short blog since I'm off to get the kids in bed... if it's nice tomorrow they plan on going back outside again to spend time playing in the snow fort they made out of the huge snow bank from our driveway. Have a super night everyone!!

Good Friday morning everyone!
Well, it started off to be a late morning since I forgot to set the alarm clock last night :P We all woke up half an hour late but managed to get back on track. Everyone got to work and school on time! I decided to take my youngest son Kaedyn who is not in school today out to the hardware store to get some things for the pot rack that James is making. Since we are supposed to get a good snow storm Saturday, I figured he would stay in tomorrow and work on it :) I've been working on my kitchen table this week. Since I won't be getting a harvest table for awhile, I decided on a whim to stain my table and rough it up a bit to make it look older and more prim that it was. I also stained the seats of 4 of our chairs to match. I just have to sand and stain the last 4 chairs that don't go with the first 4, lol. The color of what the table looked like before is color of the 4 chairs that aren't stained yet. I really enjoyed working on the table and chairs and my hubby said he liked the color, so I'm pleased at how it turned out. What do you think? I've never stained furniture before so this is all new to me. Sorry the pics aren't too great, they are taken with my cell phone, lol. I also added a few pics from around our home. The sun was to bright to get a full shot of the front of our house, so I did took the one half. Than there is the barn, and lastly our dear horse Hobbins munchin on some hay. Of course he wouldn't lift his head up for his pic, haha. Anyhow, I'm off to finish some more chores, like bringing in the wood and feeding the chickens etc. Than I think lunch and a little catnap is in order. Hope you have all had a wonderful week!

Blessings, Trish

I'm a little late on this but.... Happy New Year!! May 2011 bring you many blessings :)
Well, there's not much happening here. The kids have been back in school since last Thursday and adjusting into routine. It's colllldddd here, right now -6 degrees celsius but that's not including the windchill. Last I heard we are expecting more snow. I must admit we haven't had a whole lot of it so far compared to other years but we still have lots of time left. I would love to say that being down in Florida with my mom right now sounds inviting but she said it's been so windy lately that she can't even leave her rental place to go anywhere and it's been chilly too. I guess I will have to be content on cozying up here with the woodstove keeping me toasty. Our latest project here is making a hanging pot rack which I'm so excited to start, oh wait, my hubby is making it, lol, okay, I'm excited to have it done. I have no room for the new pots we bought before Christmas and we found the perfect spot to put a rack up. My job is to make it look nice and prim, so we shall see what I come up with :) I also inherited an antique rocking chair from my mother and it belonged to her grandma, since my mom is almost 79, this chair is pretty old. It needs the seat recaned which I don't know how to do but I might try hand at it and it was painted a dark green long long ago so I don't know if I will try and restore the wood or leave it. I kinda like it the way it is but my mom looked at me funny when I said that, so we'll see about that too. I'm still re arranging things around here now that the Christmas decorations are down and trying to get rid of junk that is piling up in every corner, I hate messes :P
Anyhow, that's about it for now, I think I will go curl up in a nice warm blanket and see what the rest of the night brings. Hope you are all having a blessed week!

Take care, Trish
